“Mellifluous” this is a new compilation of three artists, which are very known on electronic scene under aliases: LetKolben, Falki Hoz and Omar Salgado. Here their music will make a kind of triangle where each track takes own side and then are build this new independent form together. However all tracks of this compilation are lush, they just put a smile on your face.
“Out of Space” – it is how sounds LetKolben’s memories about Ibiza and incredible club – “Space”, which has been closed last year after his long, long way. As others great Kolben’s tracks, “Out of Space” is cut of the same glittering cloth, which is centred on chords and filtered synths, laying under hi-hats and percussion beats that are disrupting the synthetic sounds. Moreover, it features rousing different sound tropes: glitchy vocal, a nimble bassline and choral synth harmonies that give the track a movement charge. Track has microscopic, sentimental details to intensify the trip to your memory of “Space” club. All of these will bring you to Ibiza’s parties, to those moments of striking beauty and positive craziness.
Falki Hoz is an artist who likes to move forwards, to explore the space around him. His music always had attention, but on “Como Um Passaro” he makes his point in a subtly, new way. His track is a glossy peak-time jam destined for summer dance floors. Exquisite chimes lead a procession of plucked notes, unintelligible vocal and groove, which is simultaneously stomps and floats. “Como Um Passaro” hovers in this middle zone, touching on promising ideas but rarely giving them full shape. These are fitting sounds for a captivating music. Falki draws you deep into his world and applies layers of sound like a sedative.
Like others tracks of Omar Salgado, “Gypsy Tape” comprises brooding soundscapes steeped in dense atmospherics that swirl in hypnotising patterns. His artful mosaics of sounds will make to you nice and trippy feelings. Being a bit emotionally overbearing, the sound has punctuated by short crazy lines and chords that glimmer like a flashs. These short interjections work wonders on the energy level, sounding like a DJ cutting in snippets of another track. Soon it moves into a less foreboding mood. This is another of Omar’s sides, he can move from light to dark in a single move.
The compilation is cast in a familiar mould of ACHT music, but rich details keep them fresh. This is will be all dance floor tracks, that would suit an outdoor party under a blazing sun but you might find yourself groping for a comfortable chair to get lost in these compositions.
